Classic Stuffed Turkey


Ingredients 

Serves 6-8
1 medium turkey crown -2kg
75g butter
bakes
150g TS Foods Premium Sage & Onion
Stuffing


Preheat oven to 180 degrees fan.
Set the turkey crown into a large roasting tray. Pat dry witha sheet of kitchen roll.

Stuff the neck end of the turkey with the stuffing and thentuck the loose skin under.

Rub butter all over the turkey. Add a splash of boiling water into the tray.

Cover loosely with foil and cook forl hour 20 mins.

After this time, lift the foil and baste it with the juices. Recover with the foil and cook for another 35-40 minutes, turning up to 220 degrees and removing the foil for the last 5-10 minutes to brown the skin.

Leave to rest for 20-30 minutes before carving.
Set the rest of the stuffing in the foil tray into the oven to cook
for 20-25 minutes.

Note: you may need to adjust the cooking times if you are
using a different weight of turkey.

Use a meat thermometer to check the thickest part is 75 degrees or above. I use Safefood's Turkey Calculator to work out cooking times - remember to include the weight of your stuffing when calculating it.
