It’s the weekend! Starting here with this delicious pizza.
It may seem daunting to make pizza at home but it is so easy and such a fun family activity.
For the crust:
2 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp yeast
2 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
3 tbspns olive oil
Warm water
Method:
Mix 1/3 cup warm water the sugarand yeast and set aside till the yeast blooms.
In a bowl, mix the flour and salt. Make a well and add the yeast mixture and olive oil.
Add a little water and start mixing till it comes together. Knead the dough for about 5-8 minutes and set in an oiled bowl. Set aside to double in size.
For the tomato sauce
1 onion
5 ripe tomatoes
3 cloves garlic
Salt, sugar and pepper
Method:
Saute the onion till soft and add the garlic. Then add the tomatoes and seasoning and stir further. Simmer on low heat for 10 minutes, blend till smooth and return to the pan to reduce and thicken.
For the toppings, I sauteed chicken, added some spices and vegetables and that was it. You can be as creative as you’d like.
When the dough is risen, divide into equal parts and roll each ball out flat. Place the dough on a baking tray and assemble the rest.
Add the sauce, toppings and lots of cheese to the top.
Bake in a hot oven till the crust is ready and cheese is bubbling.
I cooked mine at 200 degrees for 12 minutes and it was done!
