Chicken Bhuna Recipe

Chicken bhuna

Chicken bhuna masala is a delicious flavourful chicken curry with a delicious gravy served with tandoori naan or rice

Ingredients
1 kg chicken fillet
Marinate in
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 tblsp red chilli powder
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
Green chilli paste acc to taste
1 tblsp yogurt

Gravy
2 tblsp oil
1 tblsp cumin seeds
1 tblsp garlic
2 tblsp ghee
1 onion diced
2 tomatoes grated/puréed
Pinch of salt
1/2 tsp turmeric
1 tblsp ground cumin
1 tblsp ground coriander
1 tblsp red chilli paste
1 tsp gAram masala
2 tblsp fresh coriander chopped
2-3 tblsp yogurt





Method
Cut chicken fillet into small cubes and marinate in the above ingredients and set aside for an hour

For the gravy:
In a heavy based pot sauté onions with cumin seeds until slightly golden then add garlic paste and turmeric and cook for a few seconds

Then add red chilli powder and spices and cook until the gravy thickens add in two to three tblsp hot water to prevent the spices from burning

Cook until gravy thickens and ghee is released cook on medium to low flame until gravy thickens stirring constantly.

Then add yogurt mix well and cook for a few more minutes then add tomatoes and cook until mixture thickens and ghee comes up.

Lastly add the chicken and cook on medium to low flame adding in water as required about 1/2 a cup cook until chicken is tender and ghee is released garnish with fresh coriander green chilli rounds and a squeeze of lemon juice.

Serve with tandoori naan.
