Chocolate Layered cakes wrapped with KitKat bars

Ingredients:

  • 1 3/4 cups flour
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder 
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder 
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 cups granulated sugar 
  • 2 large eggs 
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil 
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract 
  • 1 cup boiling water

Frosting:

  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • 4 Tbsp butter (room temperature)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar 
  • 3 Tbsp cocoa powder 
  • 1/2 cup Nutella chocolate 
  • Mix cheese & butter until smooth 
  • Add powdered sugar & cocoa, mix on low speed until light & fluffy, add Nutella and mix until well combined.


Method:

  • Sift flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a large bowl. 


  • Whisk in sugar, then add eggs, vanilla, milk and oil Whisk well to combine.


  • Pour boiling water into batter, mix well (mixture will be thin in consistency)
  • Preheat oven to 350°F.


  • Grease round 9-in cake pan, line base with parchment paper.


  • Pour batter into pan, bake for 45-50 minutes.


  • Let it cool in pan for 15 minutes, then turn into wire rack to cool completely before frosting.


  • Cut it to layers and spread the frosting on each layer, then frost the top and sides of the cake. 


  • Wrap it with Kit Kat bars and top it as desired.
