Blackened CAJUN SALMON

Blackened CAJUN SALMON.

Ingredient

1 tbsp salt

1 1/2 tsp garlic powder

1 1/2 tsp paprika

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp onion powder

1/4 tsp dried thyme

1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

A pinch of red pepper flakes

Directions

Add about 2 tbsp of olive oil to a cast-iron skillet and warm to medium heat for 5 minutes.

Season both sides of the salmon fillets with the Cajun seasoning, be careful not to add too much to the thinner ends because that can make it too salty!

Place the salmon in the hot pan, skin down.

Turn down the heat to medium-low. Sear for 6 minutes, without touching, or until the edges start to look cooked. Flip the fillets to the other side (they should not stick to the bottom, if they did, there wasn’t enough oil!) Continue cooking for 3 to 4 minutes depending on the size and thickness of the fillets.

Sometimes I will turn the fillet on its side for a few seconds. Remember they will continue to cook once removed from the heat
